The PB's at RSPB PB in October! (Pt 1)

Back at the end of October me and Mrs PB had a few days away in Chichester, and very lovely it was too. Whilst there we took a trip to both WWT Arundel, and RSPB Pulborough Brooks. This first part (quite short) at Pulborough came about because I misunderstood the website and opening times. I thought the trails would be open 24 hours, but the cafe, welcome hut, shop etc wouldn't open until 9ish. I didn't realise the only access to the trails was through the Welcome Hut, and being early birds we were there by about 8. What to do? Luckily, from the car park, a trail was marked for fungus spotting, up through some adjacent woodlands. Unfortunately, I only had my big lens with me, so the following pictures are the best I could muster, having to stand at least 15 feet from the subjects!!

All the fungi were labelled, and of course, me being a bit of a muppet, didn't photograph any of the signs, so now can't remember what any of them are Smiley

Shaggy something?

Staghorn bottom left (I think)

Purple something maybe

One of the brackets perhaps

Bubble something?

Clumping Golden Cap (made up name)

Oyster something?

Clumping Extra-Golden Cap (made up name two and too)

Devils Tooth Lung (meh... whaddo I know? lol)

If a toadstool falls in the field, and there is no one to hear it..... does it make a sound?

I've a few to catch up with, the rest of Pulborough, WWT (keep an eye out for the Pelican!) and a couple of forays back at home

Thanks for reading
