Starting off 2023 list already! 7 Winter moths - Operophtera brumata around the front door

Not sure what I will find this year as I will be possibly be doing more travelling in the UK

Excellent Mr Kes. I too hadn't seen a Common Blue until last year when I went to my sister's in Buxton. She lives next to St.John's Cavern, and in the woods there was an area for butterflies, and there were loads of them! I was in my element snapping away ... . I am also on the, 'I haven't seen any fritilaries yet', list ... but we live in hope.
Jersey Tiger Moth:
I think this is a Common Grass Veneer Moth .... but I am open to offers ...

Thank you Linda. It was in a glass tumbler. I caught it in my lounge, took a few shots, then let it go outside ...
On buddleia nice, I guess they are daylight moths then. Will have to look out for them, never seen one! Great shot though.
