I saw my first one a few days ago as I was walking to my car. Didn't get enough of a view to id it as it was flying. It's a start ... . Last year there was a lot of Speckled Wood in my area. We'll see what this year brings.
Its interesting that Im in Gloucestershire like Robbo Not in the same area but the same county. but none have come out down the part of Gloucestershire Im in even though its been sunny and it’s even more interesting everyone else is seeing them except me And peewit aswell
You may have to wait a few weeks to see an Orange tip or so ZO as suggested .it's NOT a really early one as has been previously said! HERE IS A LINK TO THE WOODLAND TRUST with a list of Butterflies that come out early spring naturescalendar.woodlandtrust.org.uk/.../ ;-)
