well would you believe it, went to answer door this afternoon, it was the fish man,
he got the shock of his life, behind and above him at about hundred foot, rushed in grabbed my small fugi
and managed these, not v. good but at least they were over my house. best regards mac

Birds are always tricky to photograph against the sky. You did well to get a shot especially as you weren' t prepared. They'll be coming down to feed in your garden next.

around us, they breed not far, and we see the young at the back end, no pipit i have not been to gilpin,

I'm lucky to be living in the area where red kites are the commonest raptors around, but never got decent shots, or to put it another way, I never tried! Here is one of the only 2 photos I've taken, both distant, blurry and rubbish!!
