I can't help you with the moth, but your fly is likely to be a green bottle fly, or its collective name, blow fly.

Thank you Mike the second moth was really tiny, smaller than a drawing pin and it was just a short walk I was pleased to have found something to photograph locally.

It is amazing what is on our doorstep so keep snapping ILR, though I can't help with id's, I'm known always to be wrong!!!

Hi PB and a big welcome to Sunny Yorkshire, Nettle Tap and I think your right this is the one I originally thought it was too. This is the description in my book
Widespread and common on rough ground and in hedges and gardens flies May-September. larva feeds on common Nettle. I saw this one in a hedge on a leaf
