Thought I would kick this years thread off with the beautiful Peacock spotted today - I have had quite a few moths around the front door but not deployed the lights recently

Very nice Hazel. I love the bright colours of Small Coppers, they really glow in the sunshine ...
Red Admiral spotted today .......
Billysdad said:Excellent capture Hazel. They do seem to llike settling on the ground.
The ground, particularly hardcore, mortar and other stone based surfaces will heat up quickly in the sun, therefore a good quick heat source for all invertebrates, but too good for heat storage in urban environments.....

As it was so warm yesterday evening I decided to run a trap. At about 5.30 in the morning it started to absolutely pour down so I had a mad panic to rescue my moths - it was a wee bit exciting getting the kit in with thunder and lightening but I don't think anyone drowned and there might be a few moths rocking around house.
It was quality over quantity
