Thought I would kick this years thread off with the beautiful Peacock spotted today - I have had quite a few moths around the front door but not deployed the lights recently

Unfortunately all I saw was what was in the photo, though I have to agree, just looking at the eyes, they seemed a bit lighter than I expected from a tortoiseshell.

I can't match Ed's six whites in one shot, but I managed one yesterday afternoon ...
A couple from today ,.... tons of Speckled Woods around our local parkland
and small white butterfly which happened to share the flower with a spider !

Just another Speckled Wood ...
Its still a good picture even though it’s another Speckled Wood Butterfly
this morning he or she seemed to think it was a frog but it decided to stay for the day and since Orange Swifts are more active at night it will be interesting to see if it decided to stay another day or not. Whatever it was it liked that part of the garden it didn’t move far from the thing I put out for the insects and invertrevretes

Two Hawkmoths fizzing about the buddleia today, they didn't get close to one another though
