Thought I would kick this years thread off with the beautiful Peacock spotted today - I have had quite a few moths around the front door but not deployed the lights recently

Oh no!
That is really sad news about the fire on the headland, though I'm sure a relief the wind is blowing the fire away from homes.

Baddesley Clinton butterflies, with the new R5 and existing 100-400 lens, 400mm uncropped on the new R5 with the 100-400 lens, a meadow brown
and cropped using the afore mentioned set up.
Another meadow brown, again cropped and using the afore mentiond setup.
and the last butterfly, a comma, again cropped as above
Lot to learn
And breath.......
Our fabulous fire service did an excellent job and really limited the damage. they managed to stop it from jumping the foot paths and also from taking the pines at the top of the bluff. The Kestrels are usually on the other side of the headland. I didn't look too closely for bodies
Given how far the fire could be seen from and how high the flames were I was expecting a lot worse,
The green canopy is over a neolithic chamber - 2 archeologists were checking it over

Thank you, and yes I am very pleased, especially with the new camera, but more so getting out again, though it was difficult, but the smile on my face must have been like a big kid beaming with a new toy.
I guess I was really, with the camera.
