Thanks, all. I was very surprised and elated when I looked at what I had taken. All the credit, however, goes to the bird and the sun. An awful lot our birds have stunning plumage, we just take them for granted, I feel.
Anyway, I came across these Teal in flight. The camera did all the hard work of focusing on them and photographing them. I simply had to get them into frame and press the shutter. They had just taken off from Colebrook lake, on Moor Green Lakes nature reserve.
The light conditions give the drakes a blue head!
90% luck, 5% field craft, 5% camera skills.
A few from this mornings walk up to the Peaks. It's great that someone has put a feeder up there and keeps it stocked, it's always very busy, especially this time of year.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
