Time to start this year's thread of odds and sods (Last year's Odds & Sods HERE)
Today a large flock of 40 or so Redwings descended on the fields around our local parkland and although they were pretty skittish and distant I hard cropped a few pics for you ....
and a blue tit landed nearby !

Also on trailcam this morning was 'the odd couple' ... Magpies who are obviously a pair & have been visiting since last year to raid biscuits from hoggie feeding station

Several Starling nests in cliff crevices but these antics caught my eye today ... do you think the adult is trying to entice the youngsters out ... or what?

Think she was in a flap saying to her mate ...... "they're your kids too, sort them out and tell them to get some fresh air outside" LOL
Common Buzzard, Blackcap and G.C.Grebe from today's walk in the park !

Have they been feeding young at the nest? The show off one is a male, and the one that arrived at the end then went in was a female.
We have a starling box under the eaves at the gable (where a vent used to be, but I put a box inside the loft, and a cover with a Starling hole where the vent used to be).
A wee male Starling went through exactly the same motions as your one for weeks when he was originaly trying to entice a female in to look at the box.
Just for the record, they've just had a brood fledged, going by the silence in the loft now.!! :-)
We've had a visitor this afternoon....
Taken through the kitchen window:
By surprise, it didn't move when I went out (probably playing dead to avert predation) on the off chance of getting a decent outside photo!
