Not sure which type, but very large, perhaps 1 1/2 inces in lenght.

For the bee enthusiasts:
Garden Bumblebee with white pollen sacs
And the males are coming out, so to speak. This fluffy fellow is a male White-tailed Bumblebee (one of the few times you can positively ID White-tails)
And a male Red-tailed Bumblebee
I find wasps difficult to catch as they never sit still but here's a Common one I got the other day ...
... just in time to play spot the difference with this one
Believe it or not, that's a separate species, the Saxon Wasp and the first un-Common social wasp I've ever found. Mind you, without a photo I reckon you'd struggle spot the difference in the field! It's not easy even with the photo, to be honest, unless you know what to look for.

Not exactly where I expected to come across my first Thick-legged flower beetle, was on a fleece cushion cover behind a very big man!! Miracle it was squished!
