Just had another LYU emerge, tried for a pic & it promptly took off for a trip round the lounge but was still dripping liquid ... managed to get it back into pot to dry off properly ... may get a pic later ... or not!!

They are amazingly variable Wendy, some have lovely contrasty markings. They all have that lovely yellow underwing though.
I try for the simplest on my computer. When I first got windows 10 it wanted to load all my photos using this, that & the other, all too fussy for me, which is how I ended up doing what I always did. I had another problem that it wouldn't read my card all the time which is why I went back to cable. I'm not too technical so stick to what I know.

It is noticeably different, though W10 is a lot more stable than when I first had it.

I tried to resist, and one day when booting up, the first screen I saw was "Windows 10 is being installed, do not switch off or power down"

My old W7 machine never did recover, and the option to return back to W7 never happened, it kept saying files not found!

I had no chance, talk about bully boy tactics.

It's odd but my new computer came with windows 10 & the printer, 13 years old, still works, as does the keyboard & screen (about 7 years old). I personally couldn't see much difference to the old windows, but maybe I don't do any serious work on my photos.

I would think by now, all peripherals will have adapted to W10, that or go bust....

My son has my old printer, and he's using that comfortably on W10, though at the time, as a student, he had W7, which suited him,.

You can't read it yourself, it transmits data all the time to the distributing site on-line & you get get it all from there. Took us nearly an hour this morning to jump through all the hoops to set up the account. Even then you don't get a meter reading just your usage on a daily, weekly or monthly rate. Time will tell how long it will take us to get our monthly usage in the future. Why do they do this to us? We controlled our usage perfectly well before with our monthly readings. You may find hat you have to set up an online account, and you can monitor the reading there.

Our son has just moved in to a new build, and he's got something similar (don't know who his utility companies are), and has set up his online account.

I don't have any issues with Win10. However, it is annoying that the additional programs in Windows Accessories are getting less useful, one of them being the Photo Editor. The old one was a genuine functional editor. The new one is just a gimmick for adding useless filter effects and has practically no editing functionality other than a crop. It's no problem for me as I have other editing programs but it would be an issue if you relied on the old Windows program.
I must admit, I switched to a smart meter immediately but then I was the little man who had to read it and had to send my own readings in every month. Having it do that automatically was the decider as I was fed up doing it! They gave me a little indoor gadget (the meters are outside) that permanently monitors and displays usage and cost but I don't bother looking at it as I've never used energy unnecessarily, so it's not offering any benefit as such.

I've noticed the Large Skippers are now about the most abundant butterfly in some local spots. I don't know what's happened to all the other species normally about. Perhaps these little guys are more robust in the cooler, windier June weather!

One of my faves anyway, as they are so bright and they don't mind having their photo taken!

There were several of these about, too. They look and behave like butterflies, but are Chimney Sweeper moths
