Butterflies & Moths 2020

Hi All, I took an executive decision & decided to amalgamate the Butterfly & Moth threads which may make it easier to find if it's used more!

Good to catch up again H, still not moth trapping as I have a Hoggie back visiting every night for food, great to see & don't want to put him off by traipsing round the garden at all hours ... apart from a few chilly nights to come I may well set up early evening & not check til next morning!

Lovely spot. It's still a tad early for Orange Tips here, although I did catch a Comma and a Peacock enjoying the sun the other day (photos not yet processed). They were only my second and third butterflies this year!

Lovely orange tip Hazel, I saw a peacock when out in the fields today, it had landed on a patch of earth so I walked around it not to disturb it having a sunbathe. It was such a lovely day today.

A Peacock sunning itself on a Chiosya bush, Looking a bit tatty after hibernating over winter presumably.

That makes 3 of us! LOL Lovely to see them arriving though isn't it TJ. We had a short walk today & saw more Orange tips, Speckled wood, Wall brown & (probably) Small whites that didn't stop. Plus HBHM's about.

I've been a good boy and haven't left the house. It was a glorious spring day so got the grass cut. It's going to be a very long summer if we can't get out and about any more

My Niece had HBHM in garden today but couldn't get any pics, she did however get one of a pristine Comma!

We are allowed out once a day for execise, can't go further than 1km from the house & for no longer than 1hr. We have to carry a signed, dated & timed document too. Where we live we never see a soul normally, it's amazingly quiet now. You see birds carrying lists & they jot down each time they see a car! LOL
