Lovely pics, Hazel. It's good to see these colourful butterflies on the wing again. The Southern White Admiral is a stunner.

Stunning photos Hazel, lovely for us in UK to see these from France; all I can offer up are these from today: I think female Orange Tip and a Brimstone; there was a male Orange Tip but it never stayed still long enough.
Not the ideal set up for insects with the 300mm + 2 x (600mm focal length ! )

Very nice Hazel, and yes it is a female Orange Tip.

I wouldn't complain about those photos Hazy, lovely!
Finally got a Green-veined White to settle when I had the macro out.
And re-fuelling
Then a male Orange Tip with the female in the background.
The female was being very flirtatious with her abdomen raised up but the male wasn't interested and flew off! Here's the disappointed lady.

Lovely shots Nigel.
I think it was on here that someone told me (may have been Aiki) that when the females put their abdomen up it's a sign they've already mated & aren't interested, but not sure if i've remembered it right! Anyone else know?

Wow Hazy, what a team, my memory & your search skills!!
Well, it certainly explains the observations better than my attempt.
Thanks
