Hi ,here's a few from around Hayle Estuary today. The Swallows have been nesting in the hide on the RSPB reserve-Mum and dad were encouraging them to fly for food (a chap said they had been practice flying in the hide most of the day),after watching them for an hour they fledged-it happened so quickly, within minutes, such a wonderful sight and one that brought a lump to my throat I must admit ( dread to think what I'll be like when my son flies the nest to uni in September, lol !).
Whimbrel
Grey Heron on the beach
not sure what this butterfly is ?
A lovely pair of Linnets
and a Little Egret fishing
Swallow chicks in the hide
last 2 to fledge
and I thought I'd include this gorgeous little Call Duckling I saw last week on the local pond
Best wishes, Jayne

How beautiful, Jayne! The baby swallows are just gorgeous - a cry of AWWWWWWWWW! was heard through the house when I saw them!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Classic Swallow chicks pic :-)
"Let loose the Kraken!"
Thanks MC,Clare and Stuart-it was lovely to be there right at the moment they fledged, pure chance I called into the hide before heading home but so glad i did now!!
Jayne
Fabulous pictures Jayne, so lucky to be there just when they fledged and to capture those lovely shots. That little duckling just caps it all, so sweet.
Good luck for September then when your son leaves, o'h the space, you'll love it in the end!!!!
Lot to learn
Gorgeous photos, Jayne, especially the row of little Swallows. How lucky to be there when they finally left the nest.
You know that Autumn is on its way when waders like Whimbrel start heading south.

Classic photos of the swallows, Jayne, really beautiful. I think the butterfly is a female Common Blue.
Our weather is a bit autumnal today, heavy dew & 10°C overnight, I hope it's just a blip!!
Best wishes

Another great set of photos Jayne. The Swallow chicks all in Harmony is superb... Need a caption competition for that photo.... very nice
Fantastic set of shots Jayne, I especially like the Whimbrel. The two dark spots on the wings of your Butterfly suggest to me that it may be a Brown Argus, although the blue colouring could also suggest a female Common Blue as Hazel has already said. My book tells me that both of these can be quite easily confused.
