Still holding on to summer, hobbies are around the belt of pines on the new heath, along the track to the hillfort from the shop, although they can be in other areas of the reserve as well.A chiff chaff was calling today,unlike most migrants they do start to 'sing' as Autumn arrives and can be heard well into October.No reports of the spotted flycatchers lately, so maybe they have flown off now.
It's a good sunny weather forecast tomorrow, so let us know what you see if you come up to The Lodge, must be time for an exciting migrant, last year we'd had a red backed shrike and a redstart by now!
