Time Explorers

We visited The Lodge yesterday and had a very interesting day out.

We went up to the Hill Fort and listened to the Archaeoligist who explained what is known about it.

We watched the Romans and Ancient Britons  as they amused the children by 'drilling' them and also saw them fire their arrows and use a slingshot.

They were very happy to talk to everyone and explain more about what life was like in those times.

There were lots of families and everyone seemed to be having a good day - weather was good as well.

We picked up some bargains in the shop sale and had a look at the long border by the House to see what plants are out now - as before the plants were covered in bees.

All in all a very nice day -  thanks for putting the event on.

Jazzcat

  • Glad you had a cool day, Jazzcat! We had over 1300 people over the weekend, and my impression was that everyone had a great time. Next year we hope to do something of a similar size, though it may be based on biodiversity rather than on the site's heritage. We're looking for ideas - do you have any?

    Thanks for the positive feedback!

    Best wishes,
