The afternoon's walk was dedicated to finding fungi, as well as all sorts of interesting insects. Many of the fungi were only identified with Latin names but I thought I should show them here - especially as the excellent walk leader was finding some great stuff despite the recent lack of rain. Here we go:
This one reminded me of a cross between a loaf of bread and a cow pat.
This was the best one. As it was broken open a huge cloud of what looked like smoke burst out and floated off - I've never seen anything like it!
Yay! This one's a parasol - I'm not completely hopeless!
Hope you all like these - and yes, names would be appreciated.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
