We took a walk around the heathland on Tuesday 09 September and it looks as though this Fungi/Mushroom season will be a good one. Plenty of established and emerging fungi around the Heathland paths, including many marvelous Stinkhorns and their Witches Egg's plus Amethyst Deceivers, Boletus, Agarics and even some False Death Caps poking through the leaf litterPhotos are posted herehttps://flic.kr/s/aHsjAr9kC7

Just joined your group JL, although I don't live near, to say thanks for link to your comprehensive guide to fungi! Have saved it to my favourites & will never have to struggle over ID again!
Wendy, if you use the IDs please double check them as we try hard to get them right but we just started with this hobby (last season) and would not want to be responsible for any mis-IDs, especially if it's something you might eat. Best advice is to be 100% sure what you have picked, if not 100% don't eat it.
Thanks for further info JL, rest assured I only eat what I purchase in shops!! Just helps to have quick reference to ID any pics I might capture in my treks round local reserves!
I'm that way about leaving them in the ground too Wendy, but there is too much disturbance in this area already. Yesterday I found my first Devil'e Bolete https://flic.kr/p/p43XqG (on NT property, not RSPB) and the initial find was due to it being on a felled tree trunk, standing up all nice and perty, not where it should have been. If you're down in South there are several other RSPB locations where the wild mushrooms are really going strong, if you're interested I can FlickrMail them to you. I've also posted a few albums recently with general site information
Great pic & love the 'Satan's Mushroom' name! Just subscribed to your YT channel & will work my way through all your vids asap as of special interest to me ... Am in E Kent but old stamping ground from birth is Brighton & Hove where I have family! When I visit next I will certainly include visits to all local reserves where I would be happy to be guided by you!
Wendy, I've sent you a message via Flickr ;-)
Thanks JL!
A belated thanks for the photos Jim - what a fabulous selection.
I've updated our Flickr album with photos taken during the 07 October Fungi Foray https://flic.kr/s/aHsjAr9kC7
I have just returned from walking the “Fungi Trail” through Wiggonholt heathland & wish to express my appreciation of the labels along the route.
Best regards,
Mike
