On my way back along the 'central' path from the lighthouse, looked over to the the copse and saw four little egrets roosting. Distant shot so a bit grainy.

Well caught Cath
I can remember getting excited when I saw my first one down there - now you've caught four, it's proof that the population is really healthy. Great work!
Good shot Cath
Nice to see that they're still there!, they've been a bit scarce lately, maybe to do with water/food conditions on site.
As John says it's a long way from the first few sightings 10 or 15 years ago when they were rarities in the UK, Ive been lock in my time to see some large Little Egret roosts, (up to a maximum of 248 at Llanelli once! ), but always enjoy the somewhat comic sight of herons in a tree!
And, what will be the next influx heron in Wales, this years Glossy Ibis looks to be the favourite, thought the numbers of Cattle Egret and even Great White Egret are becoming more common
Best regardsNigel

This one by the visitor centre had quite a comical hair style :)
Great to get close enough to capture the detail - their plumage is really amazing.
He's not looking that pleased to have been photographed either! Lol!
