I was down at the 'ibis lay-by' for an extended period today. It should have been a quick visit but the throttle cable broke on my car and I had to wait for the AA - If it's going to go anywhere then that's one of the best places to wait! Just scoping around with binoculars and way in the distance I saw this bird of prey. It's beyond the useful resolution of my 200 mm lens but maybe you can help me identify it from this fuzzy shot. Thanks!
I'd settle for a simple Redpoll ... they keep eluding me .. my brothers garden full of them ... until I visit! ;o)

Let's hope the hoopoe wasn't a one off and they become established - just about the most exotic-looking bird I've seen 'live'.
