Went down to Newport Wetlands yesterday for the whole day .. something I've not done for ages.
It was fairly quiet on the reserve. But not to worry. I took the scope to give it's first proper test drive since I bought it. I must admit it made the shoreline come alive! I really couldn't make out a lot other than the odd Curlew with the bins, but the scope gave me far more "reach", and I could see plenty of the small waders out there. Finally got to see the Little Ring Plovers!
BUT!
The Little Owls still elude me. I have been told they are back on their old roost point, but I couldn't see them! I am convinced someone told them I was coming! ;o)
