Been down today and saw the first hide being erected at the woodland end of the reserve! I spoke to one of the chaps working on it and he said he thought it would be finished by the end of the week and in all he believed six hides were being erected at Uskmouh and Goldcliff.
All the better to see the grebes with :)

Here we go!
Was on the reserve Sunday and the hide looks about as it was when Ant was there ...
Although not accessable yet I did manage, (with a little sidways thinking and a long lens ;) ), manage to get my first photo of the lagoon through the hide window :)
Can't wait to get some proper views soon
We got a fence now, and some more posts!
Hoping to get down there next week if plans allow it.
I've upped some more photos to my Newport Wetlands Winter set if anyone wants to have a look.

Thanks! ;o)Ant
I do like the shy swan :)
The hide was accessable yesterday. I have no idea if they intend to put seating in there, but there was none in there yesterday.
Thanks to all concerned for finally putting one in!
Realised whilst watching the Grebes on the lagoon, that the hide is going to be an awesome spot for watching the Hobbies hunting Dragonflies this summer!
