Briefly saw a male bearded tit today in among some reed buntings; took a particularly bad photo of it :)
The reed buntings themselves were a bit more obliging, as were the linnets near the shore.

That's one of my target species to see this year - they managed to avoid me for the past two years at the Wetlands and I have yet to see one anywhere.

Yes but I think you've seen the bearded tits several times and I the waxwings once!
Took photos of this juvenile with the little 5 meg camera I had at the time, so it's also a blob.
They blend into the reeds very easily!
Just an update on sightings of Beardies (not Bill Oddie ;0 )
Was down on Tuesday and today and had fleeting glimpses, both days, of males at the viewing platform cut into the reeds near the lighthouse
