Not actually Newport Wetland related but just wanted to let anyone know who is interested.
Waxwings are still present around Maesglas Retail Park Today (19th).
Flock of approx 30+ birds circling the area around Argos / TK Max / Pets at Home at 4PM looked likely looking for roosting for night.
not many berries left in area so they will probably leave this area soon
Best regardsNigel

Mat and I went to see them last Thursday, seven in a tree just 15 feet away from us in the car....stunning!!
Hi,
Yes they are stunning birds, Even though the views I've had this winter have been less than ideal - even in flight they show off their good points
Indeed they are stunning with their 'punk' haircuts! I went down to Maesglas on four occasions to try and catch them there as I had never seen one before. I finally saw them down there about 10 days ago. Luckily I managed to get a few pics, despite the light being very poor, before they flew off . Although I continued to hang around for another sighting they did not return. I have been down again a few times since but not managed to see them
Fantastic Image ;)
Thanks Nigel. I was pleased just to see them and getting pics was a bonus.

Nope sorry .. still not convinvced .. that is a photoshop job!
I refuse to believe in Waxwings or Bearded Tits .. they are like other cryptozoological animals ... they are myths, legends ... ;o)

Thanks and well done on the Kestrel shot - I have seen him on the top of that pole a few times but
he's never allowed me to get near enough to get a pic
