Waxwings At Newport Wetlands

... And I am off to Lincolnshire in the morning ... where they have all come from to escape the snow ... You really can't make it up!!!

    With the weather they're predicting for Cardiff the next few days, the Waxwings may be back in Lincolnshire before you arrive  ;-)

    Never saw any Waxwings in Lincolnshire. We went for a walk around Freiston (by name Freezing by nature) Shore RSPB reserve. The trees were dripping with berries.

    I saw a flash of a grey head ... hopes rose .. crept along the hedgerow .. not waxwings,  but 50 gorgeous Fieldfares.

    We've just had a small flock of Redwings land on the trees here at work in Llantwit Fardre.
