I set myself a few goals this year.
I wanted to take a photo of all or any of the following.
The elusive Bearded Tits at Newport Wetlands; a Kingfisher and a Cuckoo.
I have managed to see, albeit very fleetingly, the Bearded Tits at Newport; and I have stalked a cuckoo for 20 odd minutes there too, both without success of getting a photo. Both occasions have taught me you need great patience in getting the shots you require.
So imagine my feigned frustration when I looked at one of my contacts on Flickr this morning and he has a string of photos of cuckoos and kingfishers he took down at Llanelli Wetlands yesterday! Even more determined to get out there and enjoy the "thrill of the chase" of trying to get the pictures, and get some clean air in my lungs! ;o)

We're back to the hide situation again. A friend of mine has taken pics of kingfishers and quite a few other birds down at Llanelli but he took them from the various hides down there. He had to wait quite a while to get the shots but again he was seated in the warm and dry.
As regards the Bearded Tit, well to see them was a goal of mine but I still haven't managed it yet!
To be fair ... I am only 5 seconds ahead of you in that regard! ;o)
