Went down the Wetlands quite late Sunday evening and had a fantastic sighting of a Barn Owl -
it actually flew towards me and over my head! What a fantastic bird, Pity I didn't have my
camera with me.
Brilliant stuff! Never been down there "out of hours" so to speak, been meaning to go for an evening walk down there.
Done the Goldcliff Seawall one evening, that was quite serene!

Yes Ant, it's worth a trip late evening. Aside from the Barn Owl, I have also 'bumped into' badgers, foxes and a Little Owl several times.
Hmm .. if the weather is fair next week, might go down with the girlfriend for an evening wander.
I can give her the promise of a meal in Frankie and Benny's on the way back! ;o)
You need to be down there quite late, just before it gets dark. The Barn Owl comes from the childrens play area

I assume you have to park outside at that time of the evening? The car park gets locked at half five doesn't it?
Yes. Park in the entrance outside the gates is probably best. On your way back to the car check to se if there are any Little Owls in the Car Park area.
The little owls were by the path from the car park yesterday so I was reliably informed. The had legged it by the time we left!
