I was waiting. hoping to get some better footage of the Ibis, but even though I've been down numerous times my first sighting was also my last. Hope the video is of interest. Anybody who has been down to Red House Barn hide will appreciate that although it is the Rolls Royce of hides it is also the most frustratingly placed, being a couple of hundred yards from the water, so camera shake and lack of clarity is a given.
You got an extended view John. Although I saw it on two occasions it was only for a few seconds each time before it went out of view behind hedges, rushes or below dips in the landscape. Very welcome footage of a difficult bird to find.

Thanks jenksnpt, I only wish it had been nearer. Apparently it moved to Goldcliff lagoons this week, which would have been much better, but think it's moved on now!
Smashing footage, John. May I ask the kit used to capture it? I have an Opticron scope and am considering a digi kit. Thoughts...?
Hi John, thanks for your kind comment. I used my Panasonic Lumix FZ72 bridge camera because it has a 60X zoom, but I saw a small clip that a guy had captured using a scope and a hand-held phone and it was brilliant - apart from a bit of camera shake because he really needed a clip-on phone holder to keep it steady. Digi-kit is the way to go for those distant subjects!
