A rather poor sequence of photographs, the most fuzzy of 'record shots' but nevertheless a capture of the moment when two Otters were seen playing? fighting? mating? on the lagoon in front of the hide. they were about 300 yards away and through a curtain of rain so pleased to get anything really.
That is some lovely shots John. They are nice creatures.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
What a lovely sighting John, you did well to get such lovely photos as they are not easy to capture on camera, especially at distance.

Thank you both for your kind comments, really appreciated, I know we are very lucky to have these amazing creatures living on the reserve and being able to see them every now and again. Because no one had spotted them for a while I thought maybe they were only visiting for the Winter, but now I'm guessing we may be in for an Otter family!
Hi John, great captures and what a special sighting for you.

Hi Jayne, it certainly was - I'd had three individual sightings before, but only brief views of them swimming - this sighting lasted over a minute and there was a lot of tumbling and splashing so it was a bit special. Another thing to look forward to when you return to Newport again!
