Nice pictures John, been down there quite a bit recently but it has been so quiet. Not a lot to photograph but I have used lots of frames on the extremely friendly Robin by the hide. Happy New Year to everyone.
John, Lovely photos--thanks for posting! NW is a wonderful place and I hope to see it again one day. Probably will have to miss out on it in 2015, but I have high hopes for a visit in 2016!
Happy New Year to you and to all N-Wetlanders (and all Forum-ites!) and wishing for all of you lots of gorgeous birds in 2015!
Kind regards, Ann
Happy New year to you John, nice photos. Will endeavour to visit wetlands more often and make use of forum, though I am always pleased to see your posts.
Lovely photos John-Happy New Year to you and everyone else at the Wetlands. Was in Newport at the weekend, but had to visit family so couldn't squeeze in a visit! New Year's resolution -must visit when I'm up in March!
Best wishes,Jayne

Happy New Year John and all who visit,
A nice set of photos. Great colours on the sunrises. We've had a few visits to the wetlands over the Christmas and new year break. Today was the first time since the autumn we actually heard Bearded tits; near the bridges and down by the hide. Didn't see them though. I did see a Cetti's warbler though. I saw it rustling deep in some brambles and waited patiently hoping it would come nearer to the front. Unbelievably it did. My camera still managed to focus on the brambles not the bird. Also just at the top of the rise to the main reserve we watched a kingfisher flash by on its way to the water. The stonechats are still putting on a show almost as approachable as robins at the moment. Look forward to many more visits throughout 2015.
I feel very guilty that I squeezed this post in between family visits over New Year and haven't logged on since, so sorry for the late reply. Thank you all very much for your kind wishes and comments - MC, Wendy, Mrs T, David, Ann, Jenksnpt, Jayne and Colin. Hope we can keep the forum ticking over better this year!
Think I saw you in the cafe at Uskmouth today John but when I looked again you had gone.
