Despite the dodgy weather risked a visit on the weekend and saw loads of Blackcaps, Whitethroats, Sedge warblers, Linnets and a couple of Wheatears. Nice sightings too of cuckoo at hide end of the reserve and several Cetti's and Bearded tits. Yet to see or hear the Grasshopper Warblers. On the butterfly front saw Brimstone and Orange Tips. All in all a good day out!
Sounds like an excellent day. We have been three times in last week and have seen most on list except cuckoo (heard it) and beardies. Now 2.5 years at an average visit of twice a week and still to see a beardie.
Nice picture of the Wheatear. We heard a cuckoo calling all the time we were there on Sunday morning but it was never visible.
There were two Wheatears on the foreshore last week. It's been a bogey bird of mine of late! ;o)
