Thanks to Ken Rogers for this photo of a head scratching lady English Longhorn cow.
I have heard that John Wayne's son is coming here - so I must look my best.
There is never a big, hunky tree when a lady wants a head scratch .
I used to have a walk on part in 'It's a Wonderful Life' with James Stewart.
This is paradise - the place and this feeling.

Any more captions from you wonderful captioneerers out there .....
I must try not to break this one!!!!
Hi Corrie - thanks for joining in the fun of captioning the photos.
couldn't resist !! Nigel you probably know the answer to my query, what time is it best to try and see the Barn Owl's at middleton lakes, I have tried dawn and dusk but not seen them, or am I really unlucky !!! I have enjoyed being there though , very beautiful birds and location
Hi Corrie - as you say, along the canal at twilight (hour or 2 before dark) and early mornings. Usually, say Aug to Dec to April. Now they are taking small journeys and keep close to home. We do not get regular reports of BOs - so I guess, it's being in the right place at the right tiime. Autumn time - over the Play Meadow 8pm onwards and mornings 6am to 7am is possible. Good Luck.
thanks Nigel xx fingers crossed I can get over there soon and take some pictures
