We started the day watching otters from our balcony, then blue, great and coal tits feeding about four feet away from us with some spectacular aerobatics, a beautiful grey heron fishing, then deer during a walk ,in the forest behind us, then at dusk the most exhilarting sight of all - the starling roost at mersehead, which was preceded by a long peaceful look at the barnacle geese. We love Mersehead and get up as often as we can from the south, just one of my favourire places on thre planet.
