Did you really mean that?

When has a 1 YO bird come back in April?
Must be Monty - it's his perch and there's no screeching.
Seren could be 1YO???!!!

I've now checked and see 06(01)'s first return to UK was in June 02 and there was no evidence of her consorting with a male. So it's pretty unlikely scenario - but not absolutely impossible.

Good morning all and thanks for captures and comments. Seren certainly is a noisy little Miss, watched most of last evening and she only quietened down when she went to roost and put head in her neck feathers. Poor old Monty never seems to get a moment of peace.

Morning all! So Seren isn't being particularly cooperative at the moment eh? She definitely seems more interesting in fish than mating! Well at least they may bond, even if she doesn't lay eggs this season.
scylla: thanks for the video clips, especially the one of Monty skydancing - a lovely, loud sound :-) I head some hissing in the background on that clip - sounded like a barn owl to me. Are they known to be roosting/nesting in that area?
EDIT: I remember now that a barn owl tried to attack the nest last year (or at least tried to land on it, rather stupidly from the side). Nora quickly saw it off didn't she?
