Semi-legible handwriting is true of a lot of folk these days, though - if you think you're bad, you should see some of the students we get at work! They have all grown up using computers, and handwriting just isn't part of their normal everyday lives.

Tell me about it.  My daughter is now in year 8 and her handwriting could really use some practice, but so frequently when she brings home homework she goes straight to the computer!!  I do wonder how literate we'll be as a nation in twenty or thirty years' time.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Stan update just in, thanks for the news. I keep reading RD's report and pinching myself, gosh! What an amazing chap, the 'who was the quickest' will be pouring over their stats, he must be the leader, he has gone further than any and may be the quickest, even comparing part of his journey with some of the others Well he is safe, that is the main thing, for me and I am sure everyone else. By the way he left the nest on the 12th. Also BlueYD sighted.
