Weekly Chat, 6th December 2009

See that Annette has been too busy perhaps, to start a new week, so I'm doing the honours. Rather wet in this part of the world this morning, so doing lots of tidying & Christmas preparing stuff.

  • Hi there Annette. The rose is "Pink Peace". (I shall leave you to Google it.  LOL).

Coats? I have two & a sort-of rainproof parka. The latter mostly for overseas travel as it packs into a pocket. Some of our younger ones refer to Target as "Tarj-ay" (rhymes with ballet) as it sounds more exclusive. One of the Fruit & Veg shops I frequent has an assistant who swoons over certain young blokes. I can't see why they are so special, but then I don't follow Aussie Rules football . . .

  • AQ: Oh I know Pink Peace - I had regular Peace - and there's Chicago Peace too.  Lovely and the regular Peace (at least) is hardy and pest-resistant.   Oh we call it Tar-jay too!  (Soft "j" folks).  Off to bed, take care all...

  • Wasn't coming on this site but seems

An extra reason for you to anticipate it, patriciat!  Exciting about the white tailed eagle, saw one on the TV recently & they are so beautiful.

Liz wonders how you know when anyone joins the site

Don't intend to be rude to you just request that you explain that unwanted comments are not wanted, which ones because of course different people have different ideas and I have not seen anywhere that you can pick and choose.

At least that would turn a destructive comment into a constructive one which at least would shed some light on it for me.

  • Would request that you perhaps turn your destructive comment that I shouldn't go on site into at least a constructive one by giving me the reasons as obviously people with different views to yours can express them.Surely a basic right.Hope you can explain which would at least shed some light on your position.

  • Request you turn your destructive comment into a constructive one about twaddle and explain where the personal attack on Richard is

Having come on this site and seen your comments now I know all about twaddle.

  • Morning all and welcome back to the site Maureen. Also welcome to Heron77.

I was very sorry to hear your bad news Heather. All i can say is that we are 100% behind you and try to be positive although I know how difficult it can be at times. Lady P says she will say a prayer for you at mass later today.

I think as someone else said this news puts everything else on this site into perspective.

  • Good Morning to you All. What happened to the weather forecast ! It has been raining here (E. Sussex) all morning and still is, but have to go shopping.  Husband had Oink jab yesterday ( slight asthma). No reaction yet except for a sore arm. I have installed the clock, Alan. Thanks for that new toy.  As for coats, I refuse to count them as I know I have enough but I am looking for a new one and don't want to feel too guilty.

  • I have worked out the sunrise/sunset times for Loch Garten over the next few weeks. It seems like the 14 and 15th are the darkest evenings. Then the "bright evenings" return!
