Morning all: Happy new week.

MARGO: Welcome back!! :-))

Wendy: Thanks for keeping us up to date on Margo's Big Adventure.

dibnlib: How nice to bump into Margo et al.

Lindybird: Yes, June Gloom highly predictable; if you know of anyone planning to come to California in June, tell them not to expect beach weather, but can be pretty hot away from the coast. Re new dark countertops that don't show dirt, have been horrified to find globs of dried up sticky stuff on ours; now have to bend over and catch the light on the surface to see what needs to be scrubbed.

Diane: Only four feet from a deer? Wow. Pretty impressive, especially after looking at the pix! Maybe whistle a happy tune or put bells on your shoes next time?

Jay-Me: Vacation time sounds nice and relaxing!

Lynette: Thanks for clarifying which part of you is hurting! :-) Nice that all your furniture is finally set up; now enjoy it.

OK, off to fix dinner; back later.

  • Margo, Lovely to hear from you. I was worried that your cold would become a chest infection. Glad to hear you have seen your GP.  I look forward to reading your LG report when you are able. Do take care.

  • Margo: I am looking forward to your diary, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

  • Margo : I hope you are feeling better soon.

Lovely day here now, not too hot, temps around 18c. Heard a cuckoo from the garden this morning and so did Lady P so I was not just hearing things. Managed to get the front lawn cut this morning, still very dry but has recovered a little. Took Hamish out for his afternoon walk and now doing the dogs washing while watching tennis and ospreys. Who said men couldnt multi task?

  • PATRICIAT Great news about Rory Mcilroy, but sorry you didn't have success yourself. Hope the golfing succeess made up for this a little. The youngest player to win a major since goodness knows when!!!! how good is that?

  • ALAN   Lucky you to hear a cuckoo so regularly. It is a few years since we heard one. Must admit I always thought it was strange that we are so pleased when we hear one considering what they do to other birds eggs and then the poor small birds having to try and feed the enormous Cuckoo chicks. Still that is nature for you!!!!

Swam 30 lenghts this am and then went to voluntary work. Photo at party the other night, saw it on OHs facebook and thought I really must lose weight. wonder if no cakes or after dinner choc might do the trick or do I have to cut out the lattes as well   Doom!!!!

Car back from second trip to garage to fix the window, so far so good

Too bad that Margobird has chest infection

    LINDYBIRD smiled at your smiles.

  • Afternoon all and just a quick post to say thanks to all for your good wishes now and while I was away.  Some absolutely wonderful photos have been posted and my thanks too for all those who put them on.  Have been laying on the bed for a couple of hours and have now been trying to catch up with all the news.  Has the site changed it's format while I was away.  I said I would start a new thread for my LG experience but cannot see where to do it.  Is it where it says new post? Perhaps someone could put me right, have to confess as usual I am a little confused.  Billieand I have spent time cuddled up to each other this morning, she really doesn't do wet anymore since she became our pet.

Just a few replies now - DjoanS love the card can hardly believe that I am back home already and not looking at a scene like that through binoculars from the hide.

Mary GK  the midge picture certainly did make me smile.  Believe it or not although I went well armed for midges did not see any at all and never had to spray myself with the deterrent.

patriciat so sorry you are now well.  Life is just so tough for you and each time I passed through Nethy Bridge I thought of you and felt so sorry that you were not able to be there.

    Lindybird very cute Monday Smiles.

OG sorry you have been feeling rather unwell, hope things will improve for you soon.

dibnlib pleased to see you on your bike but do take care.  Guess your confidence is getting stronger now.

Sorry I can't respond to all but I am grateful for all the news and pics that are posted.

  • just come in from doing some gardening while gardening i stuck the clippers i was using in the top of my thumb so have put a dressing on it now,got going to do any more or i might end up doing it again

  • Margo welcome back.  I'm sorry to hear that you've got a chest infection.  I hope you soon feel better.  Looking forward to hearing about your trip when you're feeling more yourself.

Off to do some jobs now.  1st will be to bathe Mia's ears.  She had been scratching a lot and I didn't know why as I know she doesn't have any unwelcome visitors.  However she yelped when scratching her ear the other day and when I looked she had drawn blood.  I took her to the vet that evening and though her ears look perfectly clean apparently there is a lot of wax further down.  The vet gave me some stuff to put in twice a day to try and remove it but said if that doesn't work the only thing to do would be to knock her out and syringe them to get the wax out.  I was supposed to use the drops for a week and take her back to see if it's worked.  I've not seen any evidence of wax coming out and now think her ears are looking a little inflamed so wonder if it's the drops or the scratching.  Anyhow I now plan to bathe them in warm water to remove any drop build up from the inside of the ear that I can see. and I've brought her appt forward to tomorrow evening now.  If she does have to go in to have them cleaned out I want to be able to organise it so it's not immediately before out Scotland trip.

Once I've seen to her then I must cut the grass and do some tidying up.

  • Oh Dear, Alicat - not a good idea, cutting off bits of yourself ! - seriously though, hope it soon heals up.

margo:  Great to hear from you, but worried that you came home with a chest infection . You've done the right thing going to the Docs, to knock it on the head.  Get plenty of rest, and cuddles with Billie.  If you want to create a new thread to relate your adventures, just click on the blue tab that says 'new post' at the top Right Hand Side of the page on here - then give it a name and start posting   :-)

We are looking forward to hearing about your travels and the Centre at LG.  You had a lot of help from our wonderful friends from on here, so I felt better for knowing that you had been looked after so well.

    Alan:  You are a multi-tasking Man!  F.A.B. !

OG:  Glad you feel a little better.

dibnlib:  good that the car seems to be fixed at last - these things seem to take a lot of trouble, once you start on them.

    Joan:  Just loved those poppies!!!!

Glad you have all enjoyed the Monday Smiles, but I know nothing at all about the photos, as they are sent to me without explanation, & are taken from whence I do not know: all over the world, I expect.

Went for a lovely walk this morning, to the Astbury Country Park, where there is a filled in ex excavation.  (a small lake, with waterbirds, surrounded by trees)  Beautiful sunshine, and Buzz so enjoyed his swim and walk.

  • Trish:  Sorry to hear about poor Mia's ears.  They can bother them so much, when something is in there.  Hope your treatment works.
