Pic of nice young blackbird that has been visiting our garden for the last couple of days:
Afternoon all haven't been posting but have been keeping up to date with all the posts and the wonderful pictures. The weather here has changed and the temp. on the car thermometer showed a drop of 11C since yesterday.
Took SiL to the garden centre yesterday as she was needing some new plants for her pots and then we sat outside and had our lunch in the sunshine, when I got home I discovered my fridge had given up the ghostso had to go this morning and source another one. As it is an integrated fridge I have you don't have the same choice but I managed to get one at Currys and they are delivering it tomorrow and taking the old one away free as long as I have the the old one ready to uplift.
Diesel and I are still getting along fine and he enjoyed his walk today better than yesterday as he was suffering from the heat and even indoors he was always looking for places that were the coolest.
Margo hope you have a great time at LG and everyone else hope you have a pleasant weekend.

George glad you and Diesel are ok. The heat certainly doesn't suit dogs. Mia found it too much too but she's had great fun out walking today as it's chilly in comparison.
George : Nice to hear from you again. Hamish is the same with the heat. He always wants to lie in the shade. It has been warm here again today with the temp up to 21c. There is an annoying wind though. Sorry about the fridge. My son in law had the same problem with his but it was a below counter integrated freezer. Could only find one replacement model and that was in Currys too.

Interesting to hear about your night protection duty too. Must be very tiring having to go to day work as well!
Been hot here (!) Tried to do gardening, then sat under a tree for a bit - our dog hates being hot, and went into the house to get cool. A lot of my poppies, of various kinds, are out and looking colourful, and the clematis and lilies are rivalling the peonies. Had my hair cut yesterday, as felt left out when you All seem to have been shorn !! ;-)
Went to Eldest's this afternoon, to see the new kitchen - very nice - now it needs the tiling doing, so Girlfriend is nagging him into choosing something tomorrow, and my OH will put them on for him, later. Tried not to look out of the window at the veritable jungle in his tiny back garden - half expect to see Wildebeeste, or a least a Tiger or two, coming out at you! Took his old stove to the Tip, where I managed to look helpless and a giant of a man helped my OH to put it into a skip.
Will try to find time to write on here tomorrow.... where does the day go?
Hi Everyone from a slightly more chilly Highlands a drop of about 12 degrees...looking better for tomorrow.
Shopping trip to Elgin took OH as he is good at parking and lurking whilst I dash into various shops makes it all so much faster.
Back via Spey Bay for a coffee, no Osprey but driving back we were treated to a fly past by 3 Heron. I assume Mum Dad and a much smaller one at the back saying " wait for me I am only little".
OH has computer stuff to do tomorrow before his quick trip to Dorset to his head office so I might take a walk from Aberlour to Dufftown...incentive being a nice coffee and shortbread at the Glenfiddich Distillery coffee shop.
Talking of dogs and heat...it was 22 when I went for a walk by the river and a friend who has an elderly St Bernard was taking her for a walk. He looked cream crackered but I felt sorry for Lily (big dog sweet name). I quoted or rather misquoted "mad dogs a Scotsmen go out in the midday sun".
Can I be an honorary Scotsman...er...Scotswoman? I've been out in the full midday sun all afternoon pulling weeds. It's 94 F here. That's 34.4 C. And with the high humidity, it feels like 99 F or 37.2 C. Yuck!!! I think I'm going to move to Finland with Auntie. It can't be hot up there, can it?
