Happy Easter to all

Alan says. . . . Another hot day. Even hotter than yesterday with the temp now 24.8c .
Hey Alan - Hot????? We call that "mild". Today expecting 23C here, currently 22.6C.

I have some catching up to do. My apologies to those whose questions I’ve not answered.

Sheila says AQ . . . . I love your travelogue! You are so descriptive and your photos are lovely too. I take it you have an interest in churches. Is this from an historical perspective, or architectural?
Sheila - Both really. I like old things and I love the stonework and shape of old churches. I don’t go into it too deeply. Couldn’t name the styles.

OG says AQ . . . . Oh dear! Sorry the paint saga doesn’t have a happy ending. Is it just reflecting the colour of the carpet?
OG - We thought at first it was just the reflection but we have laid a quite red Turkish mat across one end and paint is still greenish. We shall just have to buy more paintings and cover the walls as I saw in some stately homes in England. LOL

  • 6.55 pm Osprey flown down the Spey...viewed once again from my back garden. Confirmed as OH was with me along with next door neighbour. It now confirms what she has been seeing when taking her dogs out.

  • Wendy: How wonderful to see ospreys from your back garden!!! You live in such a grand location! So beautiful there, too. We haven't had an active osprey nest in my local area since 1971. I so wish they could be reintroduced here.

Annette: I just noticed that Big Rig Trucker Steve is travelling across New Mexico. He'll be going through Arizona and into your area. (For new people: http://www.bigrigtruckcam.com/).

  • Phew!  If that was a gentle day in the garden, don’t give me a rough one - I’m aching in joints or muscles where I didn’t know I had joints or muscles!!  Good sense of achievement, but every job done seems to show up another which needs doing.

Joan – pleased you also had a good day fro the garden.

Wendy – sounds like a wonderful day out – the only time we ever saw the Dolphins was from Fort George.  Haven’t yet ventured to Lochindorb – what is the road like around there?  Am I right that there is a Loch and a ruined Castle there?  Pleased you are seeing Ospreys fly over more often.

Sheila – sorry you aggravated your pain by cycling, especially when you had been enjoying it.  Did your OH row when he was up at Cambridge?

Diane – I wore a hat to first daughter’s wedding because I thought I ought, then wore same one for second daughter because It hadn’t seen the light of day between – navy hat with grey and navy dress for first and yellow, white and navy for second – then flung it!  Daughter reckons she is wearing a fascinator for GSon’s wedding – and has bought herself three different outfits “just in case” – more money than sense; why did I pay for her new boiler last year?

Alicat – so glad that Bobbie enjoyed her first outing!  Nice day for it, too.

First photo from our holiday visit to LG – this is Vernon the Vole – or may be Victoria – we saw the two together.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • First time today.   Did some baking this morning then an early lunch for OH as he was going off to umpire. Self just pottered about and caught up with watching some programmes I had taped.

Diane - pleased to hear that you survived the storms and even got to cut your lawns!!!!!!

OG - love those azaleas, they are doing well now you've planted them out.  I'm afraid I'm a lazy gardener and just do the lawns when necessary. Leave it to run itself with just the odd bit of weeding and taking out the wretched ground elder that keeps springing up.

Been a lovely day down here with a nip in the air with the Easterly wind.

    Have a lovely Sunday all.

  • OG  I thought Mrs Cameron looked great despite lack of hat. Some great hats, liked HM and Mrs Middleton but many other things"perched on heads" just looked daft . Wishing well for son and hope new working proposal works for him. I worked split shifts in RAF and had no problem but when I did the same in the CAA in my mid 30s I really suffered.

We all enjoyed a walk yesterday aft along the banks of the canal and took some pics

  • Sorry, thought I had managed to get him right way up.Will try again later. In the meantime, dog walk, church and it is bring and share today so will not be back till much later.
