Happy Easter to all
Alan says. . . . Another hot day. Even hotter than yesterday with the temp now 24.8c .Hey Alan - Hot????? We call that "mild". Today expecting 23C here, currently 22.6C.
I have some catching up to do. My apologies to those whose questions I’ve not answered.
Sheila says AQ . . . . I love your travelogue! You are so descriptive and your photos are lovely too. I take it you have an interest in churches. Is this from an historical perspective, or architectural? Sheila - Both really. I like old things and I love the stonework and shape of old churches. I don’t go into it too deeply. Couldn’t name the styles.
OG says AQ . . . . Oh dear! Sorry the paint saga doesn’t have a happy ending. Is it just reflecting the colour of the carpet? OG - We thought at first it was just the reflection but we have laid a quite red Turkish mat across one end and paint is still greenish. We shall just have to buy more paintings and cover the walls as I saw in some stately homes in England. LOL
Yes, thank you AQ and Happy Easter to you.
And Happy Easter to all ( out this morning - happy watching the birds)
Yesterday's hike in Wales and through Tintern was outstanding for birdsong and bluebells - absolutely at their best. The air was laden with the frangrance - carpets of bluebells sweeping down the hill sides.
AQ Thanks for starting the new weekly thread.
Something came up that reminded me of this story of an osprey being surprised by it newly hatched chick here. See here.
The thread which reminded me of it was this one.
Tiger Signature
Amazing Tiger ! The mind boggles :) who said only Godleneyes nest in tree trunks
Thanks, AQ, for starting our Easter week. Annette emailed - nothing wrong, she just couln't get on the site to do it!
More reples later, meanwhile:
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Thank you. And to you OG
Thank you OG. I wish you a peaceful day.

An amazing story Tiger, but I guess one with a not so happy ending!

I apologise to those who are, but I'm not at all religious. However, as you say AG churches are on the whole beautiful buildings. The stonework, the glass windows, the air of peace which pervades. When in a large church, or indeed a cathedral, I am astonished at the workmanship that must have been employed. How were the huge stones manhandled into place in the middle ages? I watched a TV series, Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follett, which had the building of a cathedral and Gothic architecture at its core: http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Pillars-of-the-Earth-Ken-Follett. A fascinating serial to watch, and no doubt better to read!
Hello! Have been trying, unsuccessfully, to get on to the site for ages....
A HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL, MY DEAR FRIENDS:
Couldn’t get back onto page at all – no message, just a blank white page! Forecast: mist all day. Actual: mist cleared at 10am, since then, bright sun!
AQ – will the paintings on the walls be the ancient ancestors?!!
Cirrus – 6 Gold, 1 Green so far today – male Greenfinch has suddenly appeared since holiday! Lovely description of yesterday’s hike – enjoy today!
Tiger – will investigate links later – in a hurry now – looks intriguing!
Lindy – enjoy your day too – I hope you, OH and Buzz are all feeling well today.
Must go and have my socks and shoes put on to go out!
