Trish 2   sorry about your dishwasher.  We have a dishwasher but OH like to do the washing up in a bowl and at Ieast I know he won't break down.  Rant away utility costs are gong through the roof, I beleive our water bill will rise by over 7% this year. 

ALICAT such a shame that is the day I will be leaving, will be gone mid-morning.

Good morning BrendaH so pleased you had a nice day yesterday.  Geneva would be a lovely place to be but hopefully your son will be able to find something so they can be together.

 

Same weather here, very pretty first thing, sun now shing brightly but still a little chilly.

Good morning to all I have missed hope you are having a good day.  I feel I should apologise for filling the chat up with numerous posts.  Sometimes I write down what I want to say to each and then just do the one blog.  This is fine as long as I can read what I have written and often I can't hence so many posts.  My handwriting is appalling these days, often have to look at shopping lists i have written from all angles to try and work out what it says.

 

Billy around so much more now and OH and I agree how much better he looks now.  Was definitley thinner when he first turned up last October.  He is going to be fed while we are away as I couldn't just abandon him now.

WOW! Five pages, and its only Monday morning GMT.  You've excelled yourselves as per usual.  Many thanks for all your posts, pics etc :-)

Busy morning, started with the Dawn Chorus.  So despite it still being a little chilly, I decided to open the windows and listen to the battle between Blackbirds and distant traffic.  To be fair the distant traffic put up a good effort.  However to cut a long story short the final score was Blackbirds 3 distant traffic 0.  It could've been more but the Blackbirds decided to let their superior skills do the talking, and the second half was spent with the Blackbirds showing off their trickery, and distant traffic, chasing shadows and longing for the mercy of the final whistle.

As well as cleaning the usual table trays and hosing and refilling the bird baths, I hosed and scrubbed the paths, and cleaned a few feeders this morning.  Awesome payment for this was as follows: Blackbird, Blue Tit, Chaffinch, Collared Dove, Dunnock, Feral Pigeon, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, House Sparrow, Jackdaw, Robin, Siskin, Starling, and Woodpigeon.

Annette: Sorry to hear you could only find shoes who's colour combos nesescitate the wearing of sunglasses.  All the very best to your granddaughter and the baby.  A warm welcome to him or her when he or she arrives.

auntie:  Glad to hear that the Finnish birds are becoming vocal.  I hope your winter soon makes way for a brilliant spring and wonderful summer.  Thanks for the webcam news.

Alan:  Great news regarding BEATRICE.  Hope she has a succesful migration.  Thanks for the Peregrine pic. 

Margo:  Hope your weather gets warmer.  You deserve good teperatures and I'm sure your birds think that too, and of course Billy Whizz :-)  Thanks for the  news on Palemale and Paula.

dibnlib:  I'm so relieved to hear your relatives in Christchurch are okay.  You are 100% correct on the talking to birds and animals thing.  I often find my self saying things to the birds in my garden.  The local birds probably have to translate for the benifit of the migrant birds who've only learned English. ;-)

Gary:  Applogise for my weather report making you choke on a digestive.  Well at least you didn't send the contents of a mouthful of tea, on a very rapid flight path. ;-)

Trish 2:  Hope your weather gets a bit warmer.  Glad you've got a good mixture of little birds :-)  So sorry your dishwasher is on the blink.  Our freezer is gubbed but a new one arrives tommorow.  Hope the costs regarding your dishwasher aren't too painful.

Brenda:  Hope your weather heats up soon.  Nice to hear yiu and yours had a nice lunch.

Tiger:  Thanks for the link regarding Belle's migration.  When I think about the distances covered by migratory birds, I'm amazed.  It's a pleasantly humbling feeling.  I'm not sure if that makes much sense but its the best way I can put it :-)
