Weekly Chat, Sunday February 6, 2011

Hi everyone.

Welcome to another week.  A week that brings us closer to the return of the Ospreys.  Hooray!

Happy Sunday!

Paul.

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • Just catching up a bit as OH is has now gone to his Italian Club and I agree there are as many female yobs as male.  In fact they are even worse as they seem to egg the troublemakers on.

What a shame you are going to have to rethink your diet.  Why is it that everything one dislikes is good for you.  Hope you can get something sorted out so that do enjoy what you are supposed to be eating.

  • Sorry about this folks but OH has just phoned to say that my letter about the wonderful service in local library has been published in Inv Courier today so that is 2 out of 2. Both the Daily Mail and Courier thought it worth publishing. Have said that library almost certainly staying open but library also said they would make sure the letter was sent up the chain, so well pleased at that.

  • News from Dunedin, Florida:

"The cam is installed as well as new wiring. They have to do some software config and IP work and then we should have a picture!"

  • Dibnlib: All power to you..the children did a campaign to stop the local school swimming pool from closing. So far they have got a stay of excecution. It is the councils waste of money that gets to me they are making 70 redundant in Elgin but spending millions on some new offices at the old Safeway. They have just built some new loos in Rothes but I bet they lock them until the spring as they have done with all the others in the area.

  • Dry day, some sun, not really very warm.  Sudden day of renewed Blackbird activity.  Domestic stuff followed by appointments this afternoon.  Had hair cut shorter at back – maybe too short?  Will need to live with it a while to decide.

Annette – sorry no whales yesterday, but sounds like a pleasant time out at the point – assume you will miss next week’s count with trip to Arizona?

Lindy – so pleased you had some sunshine to help you feel better – but don’t go rushing around too soon after what sounds like a really bad virus.  I always reckon if you are really poorly for a week, your body needs another week to complete recovery – but I do hope you can have your young visitors for the weekend.

Terry – message going on your page straight after this re possibility of Sunday.

George – wonderful news about Diesel!  I hope he continues as well as he has begun, and you will enjoy many years together.  Sounds as if he will be good company for you, out walking and at home.

Alan – so pleased to read that picnics in the car have resumed!

Margo – pleased to see that your Sister has a MacMillan Nurse for added support and to answer any questions she may have.

Joan – we receive at least one charity bag every week – such a huge carbon footprint (plastics from oil as well as transport) considering recycling is supposed to be green!

Dibnlib – sorry the result was borderline, but it is good that you know it early and can take steps now to avoid deterioration – and dietary control is so much better than Calcium tablets.  I think dark green leafy vegetables are supposed to be good – and plenty of sunshine for Vitamin D!  Sad tale about the BC with such an appalling history of owners – pleased he now has some nice humans!  I mostly wear clothes till they wear out, but if I have any to pass on, I prefer to use a bag rather than recognise them in local charity shops!  Pleased your library letter (and fame!) is spreading far and wide!

Trish 2 – so you are Trish after all, and I don’t have to wonder where you went!

Now on to Terry’s page, then may go back to labelling photos.  Good night, all, back tomorrow.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • afternoon all. More snow this morning, so more clearing. Luckily only about 3 inches so not too bad.

Thanks for all the lovely comments about TT. She is a joy to have around. So much energy then sleeps where she falls! OH goes away for a couple of days, starting in an hour, so it's just me....Gulp!

Bibnlib, that was interesting what you said. Do they normally turn out the colour of their ears?

Annette, 7 hours in one store and not even a family member you have to humar! very impressed.

Diane, well done on fixing the vent. Sorry about all the ice. Hope you're in a lull. We are not due more snow for a few days but getting cold again

Linda, what a great verse for Annette. You should publish them. Sorry you and OH are still poorly

Trish, no chewing yet but very early days!

Margobird, hope your sister is still coping OK with the treatments.

Wendy, glad you enjoyed the film. I have nothing to add to the ironing board debate...lol

OG, a busy time for you as always. Glad your son's health is improving.

sorry if I haven't replied to everyone but enjoyed all the posts and photo's"_

  • Well done dibnlib  for getting two letters published re the library.  Fingers crossed this has done the trick.

Was just looking at my page and see I joined this blog 3 years today and so far nearly 6,000 blogs.  Proves how long I spend on here but have loved every minute of it and made lots of new friends who just like me love nature and especially ospreys.

  • Hi Gary see you have more snow, how much longer is this weather going to last for you.

I am sure you will cope while OH is away and you do have beautiful Toffee to keep you company and no doubt she will keep you busy.

Thanks for thinking of my sister, she has now had 4 of her 12 treatments and will be talking to her again soon, probably at the weekend as she is having quite long days at the moment as the hospital is an hour away and I suspect she is feeling very tired.  A month after this has finished she will have more scans to see if the treatment has halted the tumours.  One can only hope and for her the family are being positive.
