What ho everyone! Lazy day for the most part - girding myself for the busy week ahead - oh for a week with no appointments, no projects, no visitors - but as they, say 'be careful what you wish for.' Several folks added pix of Lily, Phoebe, and anonymous eagles on the last page or two of the previous thread, plus some quickie posts to wind up the week (AQ may have melted by the time you read this). In the meantime, here's wishing Andy Murray the best at the Australian Open - it'll be over by the time I wake up.
Have a good Sunday all.
Good morning DjoanS and I so agree we cannot really complain about our weather when you see what is happening elsewhere in the world.
OH and I have been saying that our garden is Billy's garden and not ours. He is around so much more now. I popped out to the shops earlier and when I came he must have been in the back garden having something to eat and drink. As soon as he heard me he ran away to a hiding place he has somewhere in the front garden, which we haven't been able to find yet, but as soon as I came in the door he was back again continuing his meal. He doesn't bolt so quickly now and had to laugh at the way he looked at me when passing.

OG yes we go to agility but are nothing like the standard Patricia and Tweed must be. It's good fun though and the dogs love it.
Good Afternoon All.
Things did not go to plan yesterday. John Lewis rang and said they would be with us in half-an -hour. Charity had still not arrived. We struggled to put our sofas and chair out in the garden. They were heavier than I thought. JL delivered new sofas. Then charity rang to say their van had broken down and it was a major fault and didn't know when they would be able to come. Gave us the number of another charity, who may be able to come immediately. New charity said yes, until they realised that our sofas were too large for the people they deal with, who live in small flats / houses ! Furniture was put in garage. We have tried others this morning, all around E. Sussex, who say we are either too far away or they have too much stock at the moment. Just arranged for council to take it away in seven to ten days. I was so tired last night and have spent so long on the phone both yesterday and this morning. Very pleased with sofas and new large rug and can't fault JL for their service.
Still have to go shopping as food is running low. Will catch up later.
Cyclone Yasi latest.......really bad news....local news reports state that during the night, Queensland inhabitants can expect the worst night of their lives! Very destructive winds forecast, emergency services unable to operate, all people being urged to take all precautions to secure their safety.
http://www.abc.net.au/farnorth/?ref=nav
Yasi expected to cross the coast in 45-50 minutes. Eye wall winds up to 290 Kmph, eye 70 Km wide, lowest air pressure recorded causing sea level to be sucked up, to enhance the high tide, causing coastal flooding forecast.
Best wishes for the safety of those involved.

BRENDA Glad you are pleased with new furniture, shame you can,t find a charity to take the old. Do you have "New Start" where you are (for people newly rehoused after living on the streets). They have made use of a lot of our things and haven't questioned size apart from van needed to collect. They also sell 2nd hand to raise money.

jsb That nws of cyclone Yasi sounds even worse than originally forecast. Poor people in its path must be so terrified. We can only hope the destruction won't be as great as feared.
