Asha & Brodie
The partnership has matured this season, with Asha continuing her good female role (and she loves nest-building) and Brodie being more reliable, both fishing and incubating.
The pair have fought their way thru all kinds of nasty weather - snow, wind and rain - and intruders, including the dreaded KL5 Klive, have been a nuisance but not dangerous...
so far.

EDIT
********
Sadly, the month of May heralded irresistible aggression from BlueKL5 "Klive", who had ruined the end of last season for the 2 juvies.
Within the first 2 days Klive had driven Brodie from the area (tho Brodie did return a couple of times to dive-bomb Klive, to no effect) and destroyed the eggs. He commenced to woo Asha clumsily, selfishly and inappropriately, as can be seen from the following pages.
IMAGICAT
I took the whole day off after covid vax the day before, was thoroughly out of sorts.
Canuck said:9:30:50 he redeems himself with the delivery of a nice-sized fresh, whole fish.
Canuck said:She grabs if from his talons. He doesn't put up a fight and it turns out to be a smooth handover. It's a miracle!
Canuck said:9:53 The PTZ cam finds Asha on a distant tree eating her fish.
I couldn't believe she ate it so fast!
I had to make sure it was WHOLE :)))
Lens critter is still in residence:(and it was back at 22:00):
The PTZ spent a long time on this view, but try as I might, I can't see why:
In the afternoon Asha preened on the nest perch:
Klive did some nestorising in the evening:
Asha was on the nest too:
No more visits after about 21:00.
22 June
05:22 - Asha flew in to cam perch, stayed preening a little and just waiting.
06:42/3 - She flew to Odin't perch, still there now.
Klive not seen yet.
9:19 The PTZ cam finds KL5 preening on a dead tree by the tower. Zooms in for stunning closeups of him, including his feathers, head, feet, Darvic ring and talons. He swoops off at 9:38. Oh, don't you wish you could fly like that?!

Often! Especially when I see them lift off and sail away - it's a very strange feeling, I sometimes pinch myself - get real
Orange eyes again, CIRRUS !!!
Yes, Scylla, very much orange !! but that apart , I really really hope this boy (rather like 2 dots in Wales) has finally realized that if he wants a mate and family he has to ............ SHARE HIS FISH thanks for super snaps and video
CANUCK's snaps of Klive above can't be improved on with a video, s/he got the best out of what was available
Later he was seen disantly with fish:
23 June
No-one seen up to 10:50.
Excitement!! Is this dear Brodie? 13.19 perched on the old nest frame
He has spent well over an hour here, preening, and looks very relaxed. The two dots on either side of his head are in evidence.
I wonder where he has been all this time.
14.39 preening complete, he has a poop, clenched his right talon, and flew to the flat topped tree just beyond the old nest

15.20 Brodie is still here. Waiting for Asha???
All this waiting is tiring!
