Asha & Brodie
The partnership has matured this season, with Asha continuing her good female role (and she loves nest-building) and Brodie being more reliable, both fishing and incubating.
The pair have fought their way thru all kinds of nasty weather - snow, wind and rain - and intruders, including the dreaded KL5 Klive, have been a nuisance but not dangerous...
so far.

Sadly, the month of May heralded irresistible aggression from BlueKL5 "Klive", who had ruined the end of last season for the 2 juvies.
Within the first 2 days Klive had driven Brodie from the area (tho Brodie did return a couple of times to dive-bomb Klive, to no effect) and destroyed the eggs. He commenced to woo Asha clumsily, selfishly and inappropriately, as can be seen from the following pages.

June 2, 2024 - Day complete
Fish: 12:42:33 (KL5), 19:01:26 (Asha)
Mating: 4:03 F. All with KL5.

June 2. 12:42:33 KL5 makes a brief touchdown at the nest with the remains of a fish. He flies to a tree to finish it off (see ptz). Then back to the nest at 12:55. He stays until 13:42.
22:00 Intruder lands on the cam perch. An unringed O.
22:03 KL5 flies to the nest. Mantles.
22:04 KL5 flaps off the intruder from the cam perch.
The intruder flies over to where Asha is on her tree and dive-bombs her off. KL5 remains on the nest.
At 22:03:14 you can see the dark patch on the underside of the intruder. Or is that an injury??
June 3. KL5 lands with a fish on the old nest perch at 11:55. The ptz cam picks him up at 11:58. He does not share the fish with Asha.

Mating: 4:06 F, 6:18 F. All with KL5.
