Asha & Brodie
The partnership has matured this season, with Asha continuing her good female role (and she loves nest-building) and Brodie being more reliable, both fishing and incubating.
The pair have fought their way thru all kinds of nasty weather - snow, wind and rain - and intruders, including the dreaded KL5 Klive, have been a nuisance but not dangerous...
so far.

EDIT
********
Sadly, the month of May heralded irresistible aggression from BlueKL5 "Klive", who had ruined the end of last season for the 2 juvies.
Within the first 2 days Klive had driven Brodie from the area (tho Brodie did return a couple of times to dive-bomb Klive, to no effect) and destroyed the eggs. He commenced to woo Asha clumsily, selfishly and inappropriately, as can be seen from the following pages.
IMAGICAT
KL5 on branch at 14:14 with large fish
That huge brown trout has been much reduced to a fish tail. However, Klive did bring it back to the nest where Asha was waiting for it, at 15.39
There was a swift exchange and Asha flew to the bare topped tree beyond the nest.

Well, eventually, after much ear bashing, he came back with some of the fish, greedy *********!! He did let it go and away Asha went.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Thank you Catlady. As you showed, at 15.39 Klive returned with a fish tail, which Asha takes easily. She flew to a bare topped tree beyond the nest.
Klive remained, titillating, doing some housework and a nest cup.
15.48 Asha returned to the nest having eaten the fish, and she immediately started fish soliciting, loudly, making it clear she wants more and larger fish!
15.54 Klive leaves, and Asha continued calling.
16.42 Klive came back, landing on her back to mate. She doesn't respond, and pecks at him. He gets off.
16.45 Kliive is still on the nest, preening, while Asha fish calls.
16.49 Asha is still calling. Klive lifts up, lands on her back and paddles. Asha shrugs him off and he flies off, leaving Asha who still calls
16.57 Asha flies off. ENS
Hmm. Well firstly my thanks to whoever translated my earlier post into Ospreyese and had a word or 2 in Klive’s ear. Glad he has delivered 2 offerings since I wrote it, but they were certainly small offerings.. I just hope that the female is of the opinion that it is the thought that counts.. even if she did have to rip the first one from him. But still an improvement and Rome wasn’t built in one day! Hoping for more improvement in the fish provision and NO regression!
For this morning's fish:
As of May 21 at 20:00, KL5 has caught 21 fish since May 1.
Of those, 9 have NOT been handed over to Asha.
As of May 1, Asha has caught 5 of her own fish.
Interesting stats, Canuk, thank you. Clearly he has to step up.
22.06 Asha has just landed, and called. Klive must be nearby, and I wouldn't mind betting he's been fishing!
22.15 she is quiet now
It's intermittent now.
22.34 Asha flew from the nest perch. No sign of Klive at all
Thank you for all the reporting and snaps!
That tail-end of the big brown trout took Asha less than 9 minutes to finish off - disgraceful, Klive!
Sorry about this - did we have a Buzzard reported from yesterday? I think this was it:
So many resources devoted to the sad situation on this nest.
