"New season improvements get under way" per ©️BywydGwylltGlaslynWildlife
Aran and his new mate, Elen, both returned last season on 03 April. After a will-they/won't-they start, Elen laid her first egg on 24 April and the second 3 days later. Two male chicks, 0H1 and 0H2, fledged on 20 and 23 July and were last seen on 05 and 04 September, respectively.

Elen was last seen on 24 August, Aran on 08 September.
A happy ending to a season that had started out so sadly.
May our 2024 season turn out so well.

Ah, great minds! Thanks Richard. Time will tell I guess.

01 April
Aran and Blue372 spent cosy time on the perch together, then suddenly she flew to the nest, he followed and mated (or tried) and she flew off with him not far behind...
Blue372 not seen for the rest of the day, as far as I can see.

02 April
Blue372 arrived this morning at 06:52 and Aran had made 4 mating attempts by 07:36.
I'm keeping the footage but too tired to do anything now. SYAL.
Hi Scylla, I’ve just read on the Glaslyn chat that Aran was skydancing for Blue 372 around 06.54 for 6 minutes or so.

Thank you, GLIDER, I wouldn't have spotted that - there's a short sample herein, enhanced sound:
Aran turned up in the afternoon with some fish but didn't let her have any, as far as I could see
All she got was another mating attempt. She was there until quite late. It's a nuisance having timeline on one cam that's not always readable and none whatsoever on the other, grrr.
03 April
During the night, Cam2 became the same as Cam1 !!!
Times = approx
Aran arrived 05:55, 372 at 06:30.
06:39 = successful mating.
06:50 = Not sure, she tipped him off.
Aran to perch, she followed him. Aran did a little nestorising, she followed him back to nest.
07:43 = unsure mating.
Aran flew off. Rain rain rain.
09:25 Blue372 flew away and 6 minutse later Aran arrived with a lovely silver fish, which he flew off with after a couple of minutes:
Morning all. Chat say fish was a mullet. She left the nest not long before Aran brought the fish in. I'm on a mobile and it's too difficult to scrutinise the cam, but we have ENS and a wet and windy day.

11.40 Aran returned to the nest with the tail end. He must have left at some point, but I didn't pick up when on Chat.
13.00 he is on the perch still clinging to his slightly smaller tail end, and no sign of 372 or Elen
23.00 the same.
13.57 Aran flew to the nest with his tail end, which he had been tucking into. I thought I saw a bird fly over the nest but I can't find it now. Aran started mantling.
14.12 372 is back, intent on food. She snatched it from Aran!! Is this the first fish she has had from Aran?
Yes, I think it was Sheila!
