OFF-SEASON 2023-24 - FEEDERS & OTHER CRITTER CAMS

Continuing THOMO's LG feeder, and including other cams as per title.

First, some LG feeder snaps & vids from the past couple of days.

Female & male GSWs, joined up by trickery - you may notice that the peanut tube is misshapen Stuck out tongue winking eye

Nasty Great Coal Tit:

No trickery for the 2 Blue Tits:

Now for the torture - I just cannot figure out Greenfinch or female Chaffinch:

This was in flight so has had to be sharpened a lot:

Little vid:

No mistaking the evening Crestie!

  • Thanks for Crestie pics Trevor, sorry to hear you're still having problems though ... be kind to yourself and rest up some more!

would you believe My get up and go as got up and gone after 3 weeks

Yes I would believe, TREVOR!  Some years ago (before we had vaxes!) I had flu 2 years running, the second year even worse than the first, it lasted a month at least Persevere

Wishing you completely better very soon - and thanks for the birdie snaps effort Hugging

WildlifeKate on Twitter has shown off her new feeder in her new garden (I think she moved recently - and in case you don't know her, I think she's featured on Springwatch* etc occasionally)...

She's got the most strongly-marked Great Tit I've ever seen, and also a Great Blue Tit  Stuck out tongue winking eye  I am so ashamed to admit that it's only this year that I've registered that Blue Tits may also have tummy stripe and I've been quietly wondering if they and Greats can interbreed?

RICHARD - Yesterday someone tweeted the appearance of Redwing, I meant to save it but...  Hushed  It's not a bird I was conscious of before you menationed it recently.

A lovely wintery snap courtesy of ©WoodlandTrust:

    .

Oh what a lovely little Waxwing vid.  I'm sure they'll be in Scotland now but we don't see them on the feeder - no berries Grin

Gosh - a clear night showing up the Glaslyn starry sky:

Followed by a crystal clear day:

Fluffy white clouds started to appear and this was evening:

The Mojave garden is ready for Hallowe'en - the night of the 26th a Desert Cottontail Rabbit (rarely seen, apparently) visited, followed shortly afterwards by 3 Coyotes:

    .

I've got to reboot now for what will be the third Windows Blooming Update this month - WTH?! Rage

*How shameful and depressing it is that the BBC have reprieved AutumnWatch only for it to be relegated to a slot in The One Show?!

  • What a supper selection you chose Scylla as always brilliant Thank you

A juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk (I'm told) at the pool - another one to jump when the fountain started up:

    ..

Animal Rescue, Makov, Cz - Pond Cam

Oh this poor deer, we haven't seen it before - it needs to go to Noel Fitzpatrick... but I wonder if it has neurological as well as physical disabilities:

  • Just to start the day
