NC0 surprised us all when she arrived back at Lowes first, with Laddie making his initial landing exactly 6 hours later. She laid her three beautiful eggs after almost near-perfect, precise intervals of 72 hours between each one. Both Laddie and NC0 have regularly exchanged incubation duties and have been very attentive to protect their eggs, and nest, from multiple intrusions during April. The hatching window will open around the 10th May, all being well.

Morning Sandra and ALL
Thanks for all the updates and captures Sandra - brilliant coverage. Don't know how you do it but it is so appreciated.
Well not long now. I still think we'll see the first hatch of the season here at Lowes.
And thinking about that - don't know who's most eggcited - NCO, Laddie or you
Afternoon Karen,
It's me, it's me!! Hahaha!
Thank you, you're more than welcome!
A brief catch up from this morning...
At 9:20, while Laddie was incubating (NC0 was on the birch), he stood up, made high-pitched, squealing alarm calls and flapped his wings (no threat seen)
He gave occasional chipping calls; NC0 left the birch and came to the nest
Laddie flew off and headed left, out of cam view
Laddie returned at 11:40 with thin twiggy stick
NC0, who had been fish calling (shouting!), rose from the eggs and flew off to the birch a few minutes after Laddie's arrival
Another incubation duty for Laddie
NC0 back again at 12:04 with a thick stick
After fiddling around placing that, she exchanged duty with Laddie. Off he went
He returned at 12:40 (no alarm calling or chipping)
It began to rain. NC0 was fish calling all the while Laddie was with her. He flew off at 12:45
I've checked through the rest of this afternoon on scroll back and, apart from NC0 repositioning herself on the eggs, there's nothing to report. I can't see that she's been off for a quick comfort break so no zooms to check on the status of the eggs. Laddie has not been back

17:23 Torrential rain! The central 'mark' in the pic is a drip from the cam
NC0 went for a quick comfort break at 19:32
No zoom, unfortunately
She could be heard landing above the cam, then made a couple of contact calls. NC0 flapped back down to the nest
19:37 Laddie arrived
Cam zoomed in. NC0 fish calling, quite loudly!
He gave his feathers a good shake
I love his look here, seemingly oblivious to NC0 fish calling! lol
He flew off at 19:42
20:06 NC0 is quiet at present
20:15 Laddie landed (no alarm calls). He looked in the direction behind the cam. NC0 was fish calling
He flew off a minute after arriving
21:20 NC0 began to call, she must have caught sight of Laddie somewhere
Quiet at 21:23
NC0 at 22:08. She had been calling just before 22:00 and again, occasionally, shortly after night cam came on. She then became quiet
23:15
A quick roll of the eggs at 23:20 - NC0 is not letting us take a look! lol
23:25 Back to sleep
23:30
Morning All
Laddie delivered a fish to NC0 at 4:59
The fish, top left of pic, as NC0 collected it
The fish, above Laddie, as NC0 took it away
6:10 Laddie up from the eggs then left the nest (no calls)
The eggs were alone for a couple of minutes before NC0 returned, landing on the nest perch initially
Then straight onto the nest
A very brief natter to the eggs
